OSCE: Arrest of last Serb war crime suspect strengthens rule of law

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) commended Serbia on Wednesday for arresting the final fugitive war crime suspect wanted by the United Nations, and said the move bolsters the rule of law and reconciliation, DPA reported.

"It is critical that those responsible for crimes against humanity are brought to justice," said Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Azubalis, whose country currently chairs the Vienna-based OSCE.

"This is an important step towards strengthening the rule of law, stability and reconciliation," he added, commenting on the arrest of Goran Hadzic, a Serb insurgency leader in Croatia from 1991 to 1995.
