British troops based in northern Germany received a visit Friday from Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, dpa reported.
The 90-year-old prince is the honorary head of the Queen's Royal Hussars, a unit of the 20th Brigade, which is being sent to Afghanistan this autumn for half a year.
Philip was visiting some of the 4,000 troops stationed in Paderborn, Germany, to discuss the upcoming deployment and the soldiers' families.
