Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan. 12 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
The CE Committee of Ministers approved a programme of assistance to Georgia for 2012-2014, the government said.
It is aimed at allocating funds to conduct the parliamentary, presidential and local elections during this period in accordance with European standards and envisages the implementation of concrete targeted projects: attracting a large number of observers, re-checking the lists of voters, and the support for the preparation for elections, including media representatives.
The specific issues of the project's delivery will be agreed during the CE representatives' visit to Georgia scheduled for February. The specific amount of financial and technical assistance will then be determined.
Georgia has made some changes to the Electoral Code on demand and in accordance with the recommendations of the CE Venice Commission.
