Strike to disrupt traffic at Germany's Frankfurt airport

A strike is expected to disrupt traffic at Frankfurt international airport, one of Europe's principal air hubs, for seven hours on Thursday, DPA reported.

About 200 ground controllers, who guide planes in and out of their parking spots, are to stop work from 3 pm to 10 pm (1400 to 2100 GMT) in pursuit of pay raises and reduced working hours, the GdF air traffic controllers' union said on Wednesday.

The airport, Europe's biggest after London and Paris, is expected to rely on non-union labour to keep operating during the strike.
