A bomb exploded near a political rally on Monday in Pakistan's north-western city of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least five people and injuring around a dozen more, DPA reported.
The explosion took place in Nowshera as the activists of the Awami National Party, a secular and liberal political party that is spearheading the fight against Taliban in the region, were leaving after a political rally.
Five people had been confirmed dead while 11 were injured, district police chief Mohammad Hussain said.
The head of provincial government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Haider Khan Hoti, also addressed the rally. The blast took place after he had left by helicopter, Hussain said.
Media reports said that the bomb was attached to a motorcycle.
