Obama vows investigation, US takes Afghan killing seriously
President Barack Obama promised the US would conduct a full and serious investigation into a mass shooting in Afghanistan that left 16 civilians dead, dpa reported.
"The US take this as seriously as if it were our own citizens and our children who were killed," Obama said in brief remarks in the White House Rose Garden.
Obama said he had spoken with Ambassador Ryan Crocker and General John Allen, commander of the international force in Afghanistan, about the incident.
"We will follow the facts where ever they lead us," Obama said. "Anyone involved will be held fully accountable with the full force of the law."
