Afghanistan's Taliban movement has claimed responsibility for coordinated attacks in Kabul and three other cities on Sunday, dpa reported.
"Several attacks are underway in various locations in Kabul city, including the military bases and the German embassy in Kabul," Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid told dpa over the phone from an undisclosed location.
"According to my information, tens of our brave Mujahideen who are heavily armed took part in today's operation in Kabul, Logar, Paktia and Nangarhar provinces," he said.
Mujahid also said the Sunday's attack was the start of spring offensive against Afghan and foreign troops.
