At least four people were killed and scores injured on Sunday when two suicide bombers targeted a tribal office in southern Afghanistan, officials said, DPA reported.
The incident took place in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province as the tribal elders were meeting with the general public, an official said.
One suicide bomber shot at policemen guarding the gate before detonating his suicide-vest, Mohammad Hashim Agha, the district governor for Spin Boldak, told dpa. Another drove his car bomb into the compound, which was destroyed.
Taliban militants frequently target tribal elders who speak against their insurgency.
Police chief General Abdul Raziq said four civilians were killed and 15 others were injured in the attacks.
"The victims are ordinary villagers and tribal elders," he said, adding the police were working with locals to search for people buried under the ruble.
A doctor at the local hospital in the district told dpa that at least 15 people, including a police officer, were being treated there.
