Militant attack Red Cross office in Afghanistan

Militants attacked the office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the city of Jalalabad in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, Reuters reported referring to the city police, RIA Novosti reports.

First, a suicide bomber exploded near the office causing the building to catch fire. According to some sources, the target was the hotel of the ICRC.

There are at least two gunmen n the building who skirmish with law enforcement officers. Police succeeded to evacuate six foreign ICRC officers from the building who were not injured. One of the guards of the office was killed in the attack.
