Pakistan Taliban have nominated Khan Said Sajna as their new leader after Hakimullah Mehsud was killed in a US drone strike, members of the insurgent group say, dpa reported.
Sajna was a close associate of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) founder and former leader Baitullah Mehsud, who was also killed by a drone in 2009.
Sajna hails from Laddah area of the South Waziristan tribal district near the Afghan border.
A Taliban council picked him as new chief at a meeting at an undisclosed location in the tribal region.
