Additional troops, including the first task force of the National Guard, have been brought closer to Ukraine's Mariupol city, Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on his Facebook page, according to RIA Novosti.

"Mariupol is a Ukrainian city and it will be so. Currently, it is being strengthened. Additional troops have been brought closer to the city," he wrote.

The second meeting of the contact group to settle the situation in east Ukraine was held on Sept.5 in Minsk. Kiev authorities and self-proclaimed republics agreed on a truce and ceasefire.

The truce entered into force at 19:00 on Sept.5, however, both sides informed about the violation of the ceasefire on Sept.6.
