A double Hungarian victory has been made this year at the Spartathlon 246km Ultra Race in Greece. Tamas Bodis and Zsuzsanna Marazwon won the men's and women's title respetively, reports Trend citing to Xinhuanet.com.
Maraz completed the distance in 30 hours, 16 minutes and 18 seconds and only seven of the men were able to overtake her. She beat Russian runner Irina Masanova (31:18:08) and Natasa Robnik from Slovenia (32:15:31).
The fastest runner was Tamas Bodis, who won the race with a time of 23 hours, 28 minutes and 37 seconds. He triumphed over fellow Hungarian Zoltan Csecsei, who got the silver (27:16:59), whereas the bronze went to Czech runner Radek Brunner (27:26:20).
Spartathlon is an ultra-distance foot race that takes place in September of every year in Greece. It is one of the most difficult ultra-distance races in the world because of its unique history and background.
