(RIA Novosti) - Relations between Russia and the United States can only be constructed on equal terms, President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.
"Partnership between such powers as Russia and the U.S. can be built only on terms of equality and mutual respect," Putin said at a conference in the Foreign Ministry, reports Trend.
Putin said that bilateral relations between the countries were very important for strategic stability, but that changes needed to be made: "We have a lot to change in respect of each other."
"Russian and American relations are especially important for strategic stability," Putin said. "Our joint fight against terrorism and efforts in settlement of regional key issues is definitely a positive [trend], which should be expanded to the solution of other pragmatic tasks."
