Alexander Moroz, the Speaker of the Verkhovnaya Duma (Russian Parliament), accused Viktor Yushenko, the Ukranian President with absolute power and authoritarianism.
"Yushenko wants absolute power, authoritarianism and a dictatorial model of governing," the press service of the Ukranian Parliament reported on 10 July.
According to Moroz, Yushenko intends to hold a referendum to inject changes to the Constitution of the country to increase the powers of the President, RIA News reported.
"Elections are not necessary to form a new Parliament; it is just cause to hold a referendum regarding changes to the Constitution. It will have a tragic end for Ukraine," press service stated.
The speaker said that all officials, particularly the President should observe the rules of the Constitution.
A political crisis broke out in the Ukraine after the President Viktor Yushenko decided to dissolve Parliament on 2 April and hold pre-elections on 27 May. Viktor Yanukovich, the Prime-Minister, and Moroz agreed to hold Parliamentary elections on 30 September.
