Turkey's ruling party leads (UPDATE-4)

The ruling AK Party seems to be heading for victory after Sunday's elections. So far, 99.3 percent of the votes have been counted, the CNN television channel reported.

The opposition Republican People's Party is currently second.

Nationalist Movement Party is third.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the elections are a milestone in the country's democratic history.

"These elections have strengthened democracy," Erdogan said. "No matter which party wins."
