Turkish police seize 94 kg of heroin

Turkish police seized 94 kg of heroin in the eastern Turkey, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported Monday.
  
Acting on a tip-off on Sunday, police stopped a vehicle, and found the heroin hidden in it in province of Malatya, said the report, adding that two suspected people were arrested in the operation, Xinhua reported.
  
In another operation on Saturday, Turkish security forces seized 26.9 kg of heroin in the southern province of Mersin, said the report of Anatolia.
  
Acting on a tip-off, the security forces staged an operation in Akdeniz town of Mersin, and confiscated the heroin, according to the report.
  
Turkey is a key transit route for smuggling drugs from Asia and the Middle East to markets in western Europe.
