A Turkish man along with his two sons, armed with shotguns, have raided a village in Turkey's Baskil district, killing six people and injuring seven others, Press TV reported.

Hasim Yukselen and his two sons raided his own brother's house on Tuesday. He shot his brother, Mehmet, leaving him for dead. He than shot his wife, who died on the spot. While fleeing, they shot randomly at the people of the village of Karaali, in the Baskil district of the eastern province of Elazig.

Officials said six people were killed and seven others injured. Three of them are in critical condition, Hurriyet quoted the Dogan news agency as saying.

The motive behind the killings is not yet known but the provincial governor of Elazig, Muammer Musmal, said the assailants were said to be mentally disturbed. He added that an operation was underway to find and apprehend the gunmen.

Reports say that before the incident, they had threatened to kill all the villagers and had expressed fear that the villagers could kill them as well.
