Two soldiers were killed in clashes with members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Turkey's east, dpa reported quoting Turkish media Friday.

Turkish forces were attacked by suspected PKK members in four separate places in the predominantly-Kurdish region on Thursday, according to the reports.

Turkish police also defused on Thursday a bomb found inside a car in the southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir. The police blamed the PKK for the bomb.

The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union. It has stepped up its attacks against Turkish forces in recent months
