President Gul: We should altogether and very strongly oppose to terrorism

Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Monday that, "we should altogether and strongly oppose to terrorism". Gul was speaking about Sunday's suicide bomb attack in Taksim Square in Istanbul, Anadolu agency reported.

Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) issued a written statement to condemn Sunday's attack and said, "we believe that such kind of loathsome terrorist attacks will not succeed in sowing discord among Turkish citizens."

"It is very concerning that the attack took place at a time when noteworthy efforts are underway to restore a lasting peace and tranquility. This attack obviously aims at disrupting tranquility environment in the country," the statement said.

15 police officers and 17 civilians were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up near a police bus in Taksim Square on Sunday morning. None of the injured are in life-threatening condition.
