Turkey's foreign minister has warned of diplomatic tensions with France if the country's legislators pass a bill making it a crime to deny the so-called "Armenian genocide", Today's Zaman reported.
Ahmet Davutoğlu said Wednesday he told his French counterpart Alain Juppe in a telephone conversation that no Turkish dignitary visiting France would admit that a "genocide" took place if asked about the issue during a news conference.
Davutoğlu said ensuing legal procedures would have "serious repercussions" on ties.
