The Turkish Embassy in the Afghan capital of Kabul was not among the foreign missions attacked by Taliban, Turkish officials said on Sunday, Today's Zaman reported.

There is no damage to the Turkish Embassy, but officials are on duty and on alert, Turkish diplomatic sources were quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency. An embassy official added that the attacks were not near the embassy compound.

Taliban militants launched a series of coordinated attacks across Kabul on Sunday, targeting at least three neighborhoods in the capital that are home to Afghan government buildings, Western embassies and NATO bases.

The Associated Press reported that a NATO base known as Camp Warehouse on the outskirts of Kabul was also targeted and that Turkish and Greek forces at a nearby Greek-Turkish base were responding with heavy-caliber machine gun fire.
