The Turkish authorities have evidence confirming that the Syrian leadership supports the Union of Kurdish Communities (KCK), which is the urban wing of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Idris Naim Sahin said, TRT Haber television station reported.

"We have evidence that Damascus supports terrorism in Turkey, especially in the regions close to the Syrian border," Sahin said.

The minister also said Turkey controls the border with Syria and will not allow terrorists from Syria to enter Turkey.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
