Accusations and threats of some Iranian officials towards Turkey will force Ankara to ponder, the Sabah newspaper quotes Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying on Wednesday.

"When many countries turned away from Iran, Turkey has always supported it. This kind of statements and threats will force Turkey to ponder," Erdogan said.

Erdogan also said that the Iranian authorities should first think about their own policy towards Syria, and then make remarks against Turkey.

Chief of Iranian General Staff, Maj. Gen. Seyed Hassan Firouzabadi warned Turkey on Monday that "it will be its turn" if it continues to "help advance the warmongering policies of the United States in Syria." He was also said Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey are responsible for the blood being shed in Syria".

Turkish Foreign Ministry responded to these statements on Tuesday. The Foreign Ministry's statement indicates inadmissibility of that "Iranian officials of various ranks continue attacks" against Turkey in their statements.
