Turkey supported temporary ceasefire in Syria, Anadolu agency reported.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey supported call of the joint UN and Arab League special envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi for a temporary ceasefire in Syria in the upcoming Muslim holiday Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

Davutoglu and Bosnia-Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija held a press conference after holding tete-a-tete meeting and chairing talks between delegations of the two countries. Davutoglu said that Iran also expressed its support to the proposal, stating that Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil el-Arabi also backed it. Therefore, Turkey, Arab League and Iran expressed their support to the proposal of Brahimi, he said.

"I hope that all parties will reach consensus over this temporary ceasefire during the Feast of Sacrifice," the foreign minister said. In the coming days, maybe Friday, all relevant countries would make separate but simultaneous statements supporting the proposal, he said.

"We hope that bloodshed will stop in Syria," he said.

Davutoglu said that but there was need for a transformation that would reflect the will of the people in Syria.
