A car bomb has exploded in the Turkish port city of Iskenderun on Thursday, leaving four people injured, the newspaper Hurriyet said, RIA Novosti reported.

A car bomb has exploded in the Turkish port city of Iskenderun on Thursday, leaving four people injured, the newspaper Hurriyet reported.

According to media reports, the explosion occurred about 150 meters from the barracks of the military. There is no other information about the incident.

Iskenderun is located on the Mediterranean Sea at the province of Hatay, which bordered with Syria, where militaries of Kurdistan Workers' Party operate.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
