Turkey, Yemen sign agreements to boost relations

Turkey and Yemen penned on Saturday a series of agreements to boost their relations and economic cooperation, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc oversaw the inking of the agreements as part of meetings of the 6th Joint Economic Committee in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a.

"There is no doubt that the decisions we have made in these meetings will make great contributions to the prosperity of our countries," Arinc told reporters during a ceremony which was also participated by Yemeni Trade and Industry Minister Saad al-Din Ali Salim bin Talib.

Arinc said agreements on encouraging mutual investments and preventing double taxation would add fresh momentum to financial and trade relations between the two countries.

The agreements signed between Turkey and Yemen covers cooperation in transportation, technical and vocational training, youth and sports as well as housing.
