Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz stated that the nuclear power plant would make the greatest contribution to Turkish-Russian strategic cooperation following his closed to press meeting with the general manager of the energy company Rosatom, Sergey Kiriyenko, Anadolu Agency reported.

Yildiz also said, "We attach great importance to the installation of the first nuclear power plant in Turkey."

Stating that most of the work in the field was complete, Kiriyenko said, "at least 15 thousand people are required to implement this project. This means millions of dollars worth of jobs will be provided to the contractors in the industry and construction sector."

Russia is actively involved in the education of Turkish students. Currently one hundred students are studying at Moscow Engineering and Physics University for this purpose.
