Turkey increases production of oil products in 2012

Production of gasoline and diesel fuel in Turkey in December 2012 fell by 0.9 per cent compared to the previous month and amounted to one million tons, a report of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK) says on Thursday.

Production of gasoline and diesel fuel in Turkey in December 2012 fell by 0.9 per cent compared to the previous month and amounted to one million tons, a report of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK) says on Thursday.

Production of oil products during the reporting period decreased by 5.3 per cent and amounted to 1.7 million tons.

In 2012 the production of oil products increased by 5.7 per cent compared to 2011 and amounted to 22.1 million tons.

Gasoline consumption in Turkey decreased by 1.6 per cent in December, and amounted to 140.000 tons compared to the previous month. Diesel fuel consumption in December fell by 13.1 per cent and amounted to 1.20 million tons.

In 2012, gasoline consumption fell by 5.8 per cent to 1.8 million tons. Diesel fuel consumption during the period increased by 6.1 per cent and amounted to 15.6 million tons.

The average price of gasoline in Turkey in December grew by 0.4 per cent compared to the previous month reaching 4.61 lira per litre. The price of diesel fuel fell by 0.5 per cent and amounted to 4.13 lira per litre.

The official exchange rate is 1.7590 TRY/USD on Feb. 14.
