As of late July 2013, Turkey has implemented 87 projects for privatization of state-owned enterprises, Anadolu reported on Monday.

According to the report, Turkey has made 8.7 billion lira on privatization since the beginning of the year. A lion's share of the revenue in the amount of 164 million lire was received by Turkey from the privatization of four hydropower plants in the south of the country.

Earlier, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said a record number of transactions on the privatization of state enterprises is expected in Turkey in 2013.

Recently, Turkey has been observing an active process of privatization of state-owned companies. In particular, among the previously privatized enterprises are the Turkish telecommunications company Türk Telekom, Halk Bankası and other state institutions.

The official exchange rate for July 29 is 1.9201 TRY / USD.
