"The Kurds and representatives of other nationalities who lived in Turkey during that period also fought against the invaders during the Battle of Canakkale," he said.
Turkey celebrates the 100th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Canakkale on March 18.
More than 500,000 people were killed during the Battle of Canakkale during the World War I. Some 57,000 people were killed in this battle. Azerbaijani soldiers were also involved in this heroic battle.
Turkey calls the Battle of Canakkale as the "battle of gentlemen", no matter how bloody it was.
