The employees of the French company Renault in the Turkish province of Bursa went on strike over wages, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported May 15.
Renault's Turkish branch employs 5,000 people.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe for the production of cars.
The cars of such brands as Ford, Fiat, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are assembled in the country.
Furthermore, the buses of domestic brands - BMC, Temsa and Otokar are produced in Turkey.
Last year, the sales of Renault cars in Turkey stood at 15.3 percent of the total sales.
