It is not ruled out that over six ministries can be abolished in Turkey if the ruling Justice and Development Party wins in the upcoming parliamentary election, Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said.

He added that several ministries can be merged, Kanal7 TV channel reported June 1.

However, Simsek didn't specify which ministries in Turkey can be abolished or merged.

Turkey will hold parliamentary election June 7 with participation of 20 political parties. As many as 53,765,231 people will participate in the voting.

Moreover, 2.9 million Turkish citizens will vote in the polling stations abroad. For this purpose, 112 polling stations will be created at the country's embassies in 54 countries.

Over 70 current MPs from the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey will not be able to take part in the parliamentary election in 2015. The decision was made in line with the internal regulations, according to which the MPs from the party have no right to be elected to the parliament for more than three terms.

During the parliamentary election held in Turkey in 2011, the ruling Justice and Development Party gained 46.66 percent of the vote. Some 20.85 percent of the votes went to the Republican People's Party (CHP), and 14.29 percent of the votes were gathered by the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
