Turkish language will become one of the official languages of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), ex-Minister of Turkey for EU affairs Egemen Bagis told Trend June 28.
"Starting from 2016, all the documents distributed by PACE will also be published in the Turkish language," said Bagis.
He went on to add that simultaneous translation will be also carried out in Turkish at the PACE meetings.
PACE is one of the two principal statutory bodies of the Council of Europe; it is an advisory body composed of representatives from the parliaments of all member states. PACE is Europe's oldest body of interparliamentary cooperation founded May 5, 1949. Starting from January 2014, MP of Luxembourg Anne Brasseur is PACE President.
