Turkey shelling IS positions in Syria

Turkey's army has conducted a massive shelling of the positions of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) in the territory of Syria, Ria Novosti reported July 23 citing the NTV channel.

Earlier a Turkish soldier was killed and another one was wounded in a shoot-out at the border with Syria. Turkish soldiers were fired at from the Syrian territory controlled by the IS.

On July 20, a tea café in front of the culture center in the Turkish city of Suruc, located on the border with Syria, was hit by a terrorist attack, which killed 32 and injured over 100.

A bomb exploded in front of the culture center, where the Turkish Kurds and members of the youth organizations gathered. They were preparing to go to Syria to help rebuild the city of Kobani damaged by the attacks of the IS.

The IS was held responsible for the Suruc tea café attack.
