Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 26
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged the Middle East to unite to resist the conspiracy to foment the inter-confessional strife in the region, RIA Novosti reported.
"There are some intentions to divide us, so we must combine our efforts," President Erdogan said in an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel. "Just look at the situations in Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Libya."
President Erdogan added that the regional countries must overcome these problems.
"If they succeed, the Islamic world will become more powerful," the president said. "Turkey and Iran have some differences on regional issues."
"There are differences between Turkey and Iran, but I do not want these differences to impact on good neighborly relations," President Erdogan said.
