The court in Turkey has issued a decision to shut down Kanalturk, Bugun TV channels, Bugun Gazetesi, Millet Gazetesi newspapers and Kanalturk Radyo radio.

The court in Turkey has issued a decision to shut down Kanalturk, Bugun TV channels, Bugun Gazetesi, Millet Gazetesi newspapers and Kanalturk Radyo radio, Hurriyet newspaper reported March 1.

Reportedly, these media outlets were shut down as part of the criminal case initiated against Koza Ipek Holding which is accused of financing the movement of Fethullah Gulen [Islamic public figure currently residing in the US].

Gulen is accused of being involved in a huge wiretapping scandal by the Turkish government.

Police carried out searches in the main office of Koza Ipek Holding and its 23 companies in 2015.

Koza Ipek Holding includes such large companies as Koza Altin, Koza Anadolu Metal, Ozdemir Antimuan, Ipek Dogal Enerji, Koza Ipek Basin ve Basim, Konaklı Metal Madencilik, Atp Insaat, Koza Ipek Tedarik, Atp Koza Gida, Atp Havacilik, Atp Koza Turizm, as well as Kanalturk, Bugun TV channels.
