Turkey coup attempt: Over 1,500 people wounded

More than 1,500 people have been wounded as a result of the military coup attempt in Turkey, Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported citing the government sources.

Ninety people have been killed as a result of the coup attempt, according to preliminary reports.

It was earlier reported that the number of those wounded exceeds 150.

A coup attempt was launched in Turkey late on July 15 by a group of Turkish military servicemen.

There were reports saying that Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport was seized. Reports also indicated that 46 military men headed the attempt.

Later, Turkish officials announced that the attempt was foiled.
