Istanbul stock exchange to be put up for privatization

Borsa Istanbul, an Istanbul stock exchange, will be put up for partial privatization before the end of 2018, said Himmet Karadag, chairman of the board of directors of the stock exchange, Turkish media reported Feb. 20.

He said that 42.75 percent of shares of the stock exchange are expected to be privatized.

The privatization of the stock exchange was planned in March 2016.

Shareholders of Borsa Istanbul are the government of Turkey - 49 percent, IMKB - 41 percent, VOB - 5 percent, IMKB members - 4 percent, IMKB brokers -1 percent, and IAB members - 0.3 percent.
