Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Turkey, Turkish media reported on Nov. 2.

The one-day visit to Turkey will take place today, on Nov. 2.

A meeting between the Iranian Foreign Minister and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu is scheduled to be held as part of the visit. The meeting is expected to discuss regional issues, including the settlement of the Syrian crisis and in particular the issues related to Idlib.

On Sept. 15 in Sochi, Russian and Turkish leaders - Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan - agreed to create by Oct. 15 a demilitarized zone along the contact line of the armed opposition and government troops in the Syrian province of Idlib.

The defense ministers of the two countries signed a memorandum on stabilizing the situation in the Idlib zone of de-escalation.

On Sept. 26, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that armed groups were leaving Syria’s Idlib.
