Turkey prohibits the use of the country's flag and religious symbols during the election campaigns for the 2019 municipal elections, Trend reports referring to the Supreme Electoral Council of the country.
Moreover, the use of e-mail and SMS messages to promote a political party or candidate is prohibited as well.
The distribution of any kind of gifts and food by political parties or candidates for self-promotion purposes is also forbidden.
The municipal elections in Turkey will be held on March 31, 2019.
Municipal elections in Turkey are held every five years.
