In November 2018, 59 construction companies were registered in Turkey, which is by 6.31 percent more compared to the same month of 2017, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend on Dec. 27.
In November 2018, 40 companies rendering IT services were registered in the country, which is by 4.28 percent more compared to November 2017.
"In November, 22 electricity generation companies were also registered in Turkey, which is by 2.35 percent less compared to the same month of 2017," the TOBB stated.
Most of companies closed in Turkey in November 2018 accounted for energy companies, TOBB said.
"In November 2018, 268 energy companies were closed in Turkey, which is 13.4 percent more compared to November 2017," TOBB said. “In November 2018, 153 construction companies were closed in Turkey, which is 7.65 percent more than in November 2017.”
In November 2018, 7,016 companies and 94 cooperatives were registered in Turkey. The number of companies registered in the country increased by 1.87 percent, while the number of cooperatives - by 18.99 percent in November 2018 compared to November 2017.
At the same time, 42.11 percent of all companies and cooperatives registered in November accounted for Istanbul.
In January-November 2018, 78,923 companies and cooperatives were registered in Turkey. During the reporting period, few companies closed in the country.
