Yet another search will be held in Saudi consul general’s residence in Istanbul in connection with the case of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Trend reports referring to the Turkish media.

The search is to be held together with Turkish secret services and the police.

On October 2, 2018, Jamal Khashoggi, known for his critical statements about the policy of Riyadh, disappeared when he visited the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul, where he came to receive documents for registering marriage with a Turkish citizen. After several days, the Turkish police launched an investigation into his disappearance case.

The Saudi authorities reported on October 20, 2018 that Khashoggi was killed as a result of a conflict in the consulate general.

The Attorney General of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saud al-Muadjib, said that 18 nationals of the country are under investigation, whose identities have not been revealed. He also announced the dismissal of the adviser to the crown prince, General Ahmad Asiri, who held a high position in the intelligence services of the Kingdom, and Saud al-Qahtani, the adviser to the royal office in the rank of minister.

Commenting on the case, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey has gathered many new facts about the murder of the Saudi journalist, but Ankara considers it premature to disclose all available information. The Turkish president said that the killing of Khashoggi is not a regular crime, noting that 18 people are suspected of the killing, and that the Saudi authorities should investigate it.
