Baku, Azerbaijan, May 20
By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:
Leader of the Turkish opposition Republican People’s Party Kemal Kilicdaroglu may lose parliamentary immunity, Trend reports referring to the Turkish media on May 20.
The Turkish parliament may cancel immunity of more than 25 MPs.
To abolish the parliamentary immunity, the Turkish presidential administration appealed to the parliamentary commission on legal issues.
If the parliament approves immunity, 25 MPs, most of whom are members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, will be deprived of immunity. This means that they may be brought to criminal liability in the future.
