Turkey and the US have decided to create industry committees, Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said in Ankara as part of a meeting with US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Trend reports referring to Turkish media.
She said that Turkey and the US also intend to increase trade.
Pekcan also expressed hope that the US entrepreneurs will increase direct investments in Turkey.
In July 2019, Turkey's trade turnover with the US grew by $80.517 million, compared to the same period last year, and amounted to $2.049 billion.
Turkey's exports to the US amounted to $725.962 million, while imports from the US reached $1.344 billion.
The trade turnover between Turkey and the US in January-July 2019 decreased by $769.086 million compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $11.299 billion. Turkish exports to the US amounted to $4.649 billion, while imports from the US reached $6.650 billion.
The total exports of Turkey in July 2019 increased by 7.9 percent compared to last year and amounted to $15.16 billion. At the same time, Turkey's imports decreased by 8.5 percent and amounted to $18.35 billion.
Turkey's foreign trade turnover in July 2019 amounted to $33.51 billion.
