From January through September 2019, 79 companies with US capital were registered in Turkey, which is 33 more than in the same period last year, a source in the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TOBB) told Trend on Oct. 23.
The total capital of US companies registered in Turkey from January through September 2019 amounted to 11.1 million Turkish liras ($1.9 million), while for the same period in 2018, this figure was 28.9 million Turkish liras ($4.9 million).
From January through September 2019, the majority of the US companies were registered in Istanbul (60), with a total capital of 7.9 million Turkish liras ($1.4 million).
“During this period, four companies with US capital were registered in Ankara,” the source sad. “The total capital of the US companies registered for nine months of this year in Ankara amounted to 315,000 liras ($54,503).”
From January through September 2019, one agricultural, two industrial, two construction, 27 wholesale and retail trade companies, nine tourism, two financial insurance and five real estate companies with the participation of US capital were registered in Turkey.
“As many as 31 companies with the US capital are involved in other sectors of the economy,” TOBB said.
The total capital of 27 US companies registered in the wholesale and retail trade for the reporting period amounted to 4.5 million liras ($787,200).
