Some 262,550 tourists from Iran visited Turkey in September 2019, which is 53.82 percent more compared to September 2018, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend on Nov. 4.
"The share of Iranian citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey over this period amounted to 4.84 percent," the ministry said.
From January through September 2019, over 1.6 million tourists from China visited Turkey, which is 2.29 percent less compared to the same period of 2018.
The share of Iranian citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey from January through September 2019 amounted to 4.50 percent.
Over 5.4 million tourists visited Turkey in September 2019, which is 13.23 percent more compared to September 2018.
During the reporting period, over 2.2 million people visited Antalya, while over 1.4 million tourists visited Istanbul.
From January through September 2019, over 36.4 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 14.50 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
