Turkey increases agricultural product exports to Georgia

In November 2019, the export of fruits, vegetables and citrus fruits from Turkey to Georgia increased by 31 percent compared to the same month of 2018, amounting to 12,535 tons, a source in Turkish Association of Fruit and Vegetables Exporters told Trend.

Turkey’s income from the export of fruits, vegetables to Georgia in November 2019 increased by 46 percent compared to November 2018 and amounted to $3 million.

"In November, Turkey exported to Georgia 6,591 tons of vegetables (an increase of 36 percent compared to the same month of 2018) worth $937,000," the source said.

The remaining 5,944 tons of exports and $2.1 million of revenue account for the export of citrus and other fruits.

In the reporting month, the export of Turkish fruits, vegetables and citrus fruits increased by 19 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to 665,625 tons.

In November 2019, Turkey's income from exports of fruits, vegetables and citrus fruits increased by 11 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2018 and amounted to $330.9 million.

For the reporting period, 83,361 tons of fruits were exported from Turkey, which is 3 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“Turkey’s income from fruit exports grew by 3 percent compared to the last year and amounted to $77 million,” the association said.

Over the mentioned period, the export of vegetables from Turkey increased by 20 percent compared to last year, amounting to 206,013 tons.

"In November 2019, vegetables worth $73.9 million were exported from Turkey, which is 23 percent more compared to the same period in 2018," the association said.

During this month, Turkey exported 376,251 tons of citrus fruits, which is 8 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.

"In November 2019, citrus fruits worth $180 million were exported from Turkey, which is 8 percent more compared to the same month of 2018," the association said.
