In November 2019, a total of over 10.4 million tons of diesel fuel were transshipped through the Turkish ports, a source in Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend Dec. 28.
During the mentioned period, the volumes of diesel fuel transshipped by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 556,225 tons.
“Over the indicated period, more than 9.4 million tons of diesel fuel were transshipped through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries, and 456,018 tons of diesel fuel were transshipped through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their own countries,” the ministry said.
During this period, 4,612 tons of diesel fuel were transported in transit through the Turkish ports.
Most of the transit cargo through Turkish ports was transported from Italy, China, Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Romania, Greece, Egypt and Portugal in November 2019.
In November 2019, the volume of transit transshipment from Italy through Turkish ports amounted to over 36.8 million tons.
China ranked second in terms of transit transshipment through Turkish ports with a total volume of over 2.5 million tons.
Meanwhile, Spain ranked third with a total volume of over 2 million tons.
In November 2019, over 2 million tons of transit cargo were shipped from Ukraine, over 1.9 million tons from Russia and over 1.8 million tons from Georgia through Turkish ports.
Moreover, in November 2019, over 1.5 million tons of transit cargo were shipped from Romania, 1.5 million tons from Greece, 1.4 million tons from Egypt and 1.2 million tons from Portugal through Turkish ports.
In November 2019, the total volume of transit cargo shipped through Turkish ports amounted to over 64.4 million tons.
