Turkish Istanbul, Ankara increase export to Georgia

Export value from Turkish cities of Istanbul and Ankara to Georgia in February 2020 made up $59.5 million, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on March 16.

Istanbul’s export to Georgia in the reported period amounted to $52.7 million, which is 18 percent more compared to February 2019, the ministry noted.

“In February 2020, Ankara’s export to Georgia grew by 7.2 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $6.7 million,” the ministry said.

In January-February 2020, the total export volume from Istanbul and Ankara to Georgia amounted to $116.6 million.

Istanbul’s exports to Georgia in January-February 2020 made up $14.5 million, which is 22.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.

Exports from Ankara to Georgia in the reported period increased by 10.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and stood at $97 million.

In January-February 2020, Turkey’s export to Georgia increased by 19.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and made up $210.5 million.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in January 2020 exceeded $33.9 billion.
