Volume of cargo transshipment from Syria via Turkish ports disclosed

The volume of cargo transshipment from Syria via Turkish ports amounted to 55,620 tons in January-February 2020, Trend reports referring to Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on March 31.

According to the ministry, during the reported period, the volume of cargo transshipment from Syria by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 10,752 tons, and by ships flying the flag of other countries – over 44,868 tons.

“Cargo transshipment via Turkish ports by vessels flying Syrian flag was not carried out in January-February 2020”, the ministry said.

In January-February 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment by transit from Syria via Turkish ports made up 4,738 tons.

During the reported period, the volume of cargo transshipment by vessels via Turkish ports amounted to 4.5 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flag made up 2.6 million, and by ships flying the flag of other countries amounted to 55.2 million tons.

In January-February 2020, over 12.5 million tons of cargo transshipment in transit were carried out through Turkish ports.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports exceeded 29.5 million tons in February 2020.

During the reported month, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.1 million tons.

In February 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flag made up 1.1 million tons, and by ships flying the flag of other countries amounted to 26.1 million tons.

Over 6.3 million tons of cargo transshipment in transit were carried out during February 2020 through Turkish ports.
